Job summary

NYU Grossman School of Medicine, part of NYU Langone Health, seeks an X-Ray Technologist to perform diagnostic radiographic exams per protocols and orders. You will ensure image quality, patient safety, and accurate documentation in RIS/PACS, while maintaining radiation safety and HIPAA compliance.

Qualified candidates hold an Associate's Degree or certificate in radiologic technology and NYS licensure; a permit can substitute license.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or Certificate from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
• New York State Radiologic Technology License.
• New York State Radiologic Technology Permit can be accepted in lieu of NYS License.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations independently in accordance with departmental protocols and physician orders.
• Position patients and imaging equipment to obtain optimal diagnostic images while minimizing radiation exposure.
• Select and adjust technical factors to ensure image quality and patient safety.
• Utilize lead markers, shielding, immobilization devices, and positioning aids appropriately.
• Generate high-quality digital images; produce hard copies when required.
• Review images for technical quality and completeness prior to submission to PACS/EMR.
• Follow special instructions indicated on radiographic requisitions.
