Job summary

NYU Grossman School of Medicine in New York, NY seeks an X-Ray Technologist to perform diagnostic radiographic procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and regulatory standards. The successful candidate will ensure high-quality imaging, patient safety, and exceptional care.

Responsibilities include positioning patients, selecting technical factors, reviewing image quality, and transmitting images to PACS/EMR.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or Certificate in Radiologic Technology from an accredited school.
• New York State Radiologic Technology License required; Permit accepted in lieu.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; outpatient radiology experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations independently per protocols and physician orders.
• Position patients and imaging equipment to obtain optimal images while minimizing exposure.
• Explain procedures clearly to patients and address questions to reduce anxiety.
• Access and verify patient information using HIS/RIS in compliance with HIPAA.
• Transmit images and reports to PACS/EMR accurately; ensure quality and completeness.
