General Summary of Position

MedStar Health is seeking a Radiology Technologist to join our Urgent Care team. The role involves performing clinical and administrative duties in accordance with policies & procedures, under the supervision of a physician. Responsibilities include patient intake, standing orders or protocols, venipuncture, laboratory testing, patient follow-up, and administering medications as ordered. Certified Clinical Care Specialists as Radiologic Technologists also perform and transmit X-ray diagnostic images, document appropriately, and support patient flow.

Primary Duties:

1. Adherence to Policies: Follow the MedStar Health Code of Conduct, comply with governmental and accreditation guidelines, complete scheduled training, and maintain equipment and patient rooms.
2. Technology and Patient Management: Embrace new technology, manage patient flow, perform tests such as spirometry/PFTs, vitals, EKGs, vision and hearing tests, and conduct patient follow-ups.
3. Venipuncture and Imaging: Perform venipuncture, laboratory testing, and X-rays according to provider orders. Maintain X-ray equipment and adhere to safety standards.
4. Patient Care and Support: Provide care aligned with MedStar’s mission, assist in patient discharge, support clinical initiatives, and seek opportunities to improve patient experience.
5. Team Support and Documentation: Support team members, participate in basic computer and front desk tasks, and prepare/administer medications under supervision.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree
• Completion of an approved R.T. program
• Externship in a medical or ambulatory setting
• 2 years of medical office experience (preferred)
• ARRT Certification
• Maryland, Virginia, or DC State License
• BLS Certification

This position offers a hiring range of $29.15 - $51.68.
