General Summary of Position
Join our MedStar Health Urgent Care team as a Radiology Technologist!
As a Radiology Technologist, you will perform clinical and administrative duties in MedStar Health settings, following policies and procedures. You will work under a physician's supervision, performing patient intake, standing orders or protocols, venipuncture, laboratory testing, and patient follow-up. Additionally, you may administer oral, IM, SC, or intradermal medications when ordered by a provider, after demonstrating competency to the Clinical Professional Development Specialist or designee. Certified Clinical Care Specialists (CCSs) as Radiologic Technologists will also perform and transmit X-ray diagnostic images. All documentation will be recorded appropriately in the medical record to support optimal patient flow.

Adhere to MedStar Health's Code of Conduct and Compliance plan; comply with governmental and accreditation guidelines. Complete all scheduled training including safety, infection control, OSHA, CPR, EMR, general compliance, harassment, etc. Maintain equipment and prepare patient rooms for care. Deliver patient care with a focus on safety and quality.
Embrace new technology and electronic health records. Manage patient flow with communication and regard for patient comfort. Perform tests such as spirometry/PFTs, vital signs, BMI, EKGs, vision and hearing tests, splinting, and general patient care under supervision. Conduct follow-up calls for lab tests, patient experience, and clinical results as per policy.
Perform venipuncture and selected point-of-care testing. Initiate care pathways per policy. Conduct X-rays according to provider orders, forward images to radiologists, and maintain equipment adhering to safety standards. Promote respectful communication and professionalism.
Provide care aligned with MedStar's mission, fostering patient confidence and loyalty. Serve as a patient escort, assist during discharge, and support new clinical initiatives to improve care and patient experience.
Support team members during downtime or bottlenecks. Participate in basic computer and front desk patient intake skills. Assist medical providers in examinations, testing, and education. Under supervision, prepare and administer medications and injections, demonstrating competency first.
This position offers a hiring range of $29.15 - $51.68.
