Job Summary of the PRN Radiology Technologist
The Radiologic Technologist will coordinate imaging services, monitor clerical functions, ensure efficient patient throughput, and utilize equipment effectively. Responsibilities include performing radiographs according to standards set by ARRT, ACR, and the Texas Medical Board, assisting in diagnosis or treatment, and providing patient care while ensuring safety and appropriateness of radiation use. The role requires applying knowledge of growth and development, exercising professional judgment, and maintaining ethical standards.
Participates in providing patient-specific care and service excellence to ensure high satisfaction levels.
Responsibilities of the PRN Radiology Technologist
  • Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures, including ER, surgical, fluoroscopic, and portable radiographs.
  • Operate radiography equipment and accessories to perform procedures successfully.
  • Select appropriate protocols for desired results.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
  • Document findings during exams and relay relevant patient information to physicians.
  • Follow radiation safety guidelines to minimize risks.
  • Provide optimal patient care during exams.
  • Operate hospital computer systems related to imaging and department functions.
  • Participate in call rotations as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications of the PRN Radiology Technologist

Education and Experience:

  • Associate Degree.
  • Graduate of an accredited radiology program (JRCERT, AMA-approved, or military training of equivalent standards).

Licenses and Certificates:

  • Licensed as a Medical Radiologic Technologist by the Texas Medical Board.
  • Registered with ARRT.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
