Radiology Technologist - PRN
Responsibilities

Aiken Regional Medical Centers, located in Aiken, South Carolina, is a 273-bed acute care facility providing quality healthcare to the residents of Aiken and surrounding communities. It has been ranked a top hospital in South Carolina by the Carolina Center for Medical Excellence for its treatment of heart attack, heart failure, and pneumonia. Services include emergency care, orthopedic surgeries, maternity, and behavioral health.

Radiology Technologists assist physicians and perform radiological, paramedical, and clerical duties in patient care, working under the supervision of the Radiology Supervisor and physicians. They are mainly responsible for supporting daily Radiology department operations.

Duties
  • Prepare room, equipment, contrast media, and materials for procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and stocked X-Ray procedure room daily.
  • Warm X-Ray equipment daily and ensure proper functioning; notify maintenance if issues arise.
  • Prepare patients for X-ray procedures, explain the process, transfer and position patients correctly, and assist at the end of procedures.
  • Send images to PACS and verify their availability for interpretation.
  • Perform clerical and transportation duties as needed.
  • Follow ARMC patient care policies.
  • Assist Radiologists during procedures and take films as requested.
  • Schedule exams properly, considering age-related factors from pediatrics to geriatrics.
  • Accept additional work during low patient activity and assist colleagues as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of all data and patient information.
  • Implement radiation safety procedures consistently.
  • Ensure patient charges are correctly documented and entered into the EHR promptly.
  • Assist in emergency responses as needed.
  • Operate portable X-Ray and C-Arm machines for inpatient and OR imaging.
  • Attend monthly staff meetings unless excused.
  • Document verbal and telephone orders per policy (for ARRT licensed staff).
  • Rotate to other imaging departments and participate in holiday/on-call rotations.

Requirements
