Job description

Join us as a Radiology Technologist - PRN at Aiken Regional Medical Centers

Aiken Regional Medical Centers, located in Aiken, South Carolina, is a 273-bed acute care facility dedicated to providing quality healthcare to the residents of Aiken and surrounding communities. Recognized as a top hospital in South Carolina, we offer services including emergency care, orthopedic surgeries, maternity, and behavioral health.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare rooms, equipment, contrast media, and materials for procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and stocked X-Ray procedure room daily.
  • Ensure equipment is warmed up and functioning properly, notifying maintenance if needed.
  • Prepare patients for X-ray procedures, explain the process, transfer, position, and assist as necessary.
  • Send images to PACS and verify their availability for interpretation.
  • Perform clerical and transportation duties as needed.
  • Practice patient care following ARMC policies.
  • Assist radiologists during procedures and take films as requested.
  • Schedule exams efficiently, considering age-related factors for pediatric to geriatric patients.
  • Accept additional work during low patient activity periods and assist colleagues as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of all data and patient information.
  • Implement radiation safety procedures at all times.
  • Ensure patient charges are accurately recorded and entered in a timely manner.
  • Assist physicians in emergency situations and operate portable X-Ray and C-Arm machines.
  • Attend staff meetings and document verbal and telephone orders per policy.
  • Rotate through different imaging departments and participate in holiday and on-call rotations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a radiological program or equivalent military training.
  • Current BLS certification within 90 days of employment.
  • Valid ARRT and South Carolina license or Temporary B license.
