Job summary

University of Michigan Health - Sparrow seeks a Radiology Technologist to operate diagnostic x-ray equipment and produce high-quality images under physician supervision. The role requires ARRT registration, at least six months of x-ray experience, and comfort with EMR systems.

Ambulatory x-ray experience is preferred. You will work in an urgent care/clinic setting, ensure radiation protection, and support clinical and clerical workflows.

Qualifications

• ARRT registration in Radiography is required.
• Six months X-ray experience.
• EMR experience preferred.
• Ambulatory x-ray experience preferred.
• Associate degree in Radiologic Technology.
• Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient and adjust equipment for taking x-rays.
• Position and instruct patient regarding procedures.
• Take x-ray images of specified body parts as ordered.
• Use immobilization devices and lead protective shielding as required.
• Maintain sterile technique and universal precautions.
• Process films and log patient factors in RIS.
• Maintain department policies, safety, and infection control.
• Assist in care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies.
• Attend in-service meetings and other required meetings.
• Prepare patient for examination, obtain vital signs and chief complaint.
• Perform laboratory and diagnostic testing.
• Answer and triage telephone calls and distribute messages.
