Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform imaging exams with attention to patient safety and comfort. You will operate radiography equipment, document patient records, and support Radiologist tasks across departments, including OR and Fluoroscopy.

Required are 2+ years of experience, BLS certification, RT(R) ARRRT, strong communication skills, and the ability to read, write, and speak English. This full-time role offers day shifts in Florida.

• Direct patient care within technologist scope, including monitoring and privacy.
• Proficient in patient history taking and explaining procedures; able to use radiography equipment.

Responsibilities

• Practices infection control standards and utilizes PPE and disinfectants.
• Maintains a stocked, organized, clean room; handles documentation and scheduling tasks.
• Delivers direct patient care, monitors conditions, ensures comfort and safety.
• Obtains patient history and explains procedures; performs radiology duties across departments including OR/Fluoroscopy.
• Uses imaging equipment and adheres to established protocols for all exams.

Job Description:

• Practices infection control standards and utilizes approved personal protective equipment (PPE) and disinfectant agents.
• Maintains a properly stocked, organized, and clean room. Completes required documentation for Radiologist support and performs clerical duties, including answering telephones, completing patient records, filing, and scheduling.
• Performs direct patient care duties within the technologist’s scope of practice, including monitoring patient condition and ensuring patient comfort, safety, and privacy.
• Obtains and documents patient history and explain procedures. Performs radiology duties in all departments and environments, including OR and Fluoroscopy.
• Performs all imaging exams using established protocols and operates all equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, monitors, and medical equipment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to analyze and assess data, techniques, methodology, equipment operation, and quality control to ensure that information is obtained and presented accurately [Required]
• Up-to-date knowledge of patient positioning and equipment operations, including x-ray producing equipment, if applicable per facility [Required]
• Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals [Required]
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry [Required]
• Able to fully use all Radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment [Required]
• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Required]
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]

Education:

• Associate [Preferred]
• Bachelor's [Preferred]
• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience:

• 2+ years experience [Required]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Registered Technologist – Radiography (RT(R) (ARRT)) [Required]
