Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiology exams across departments with a focus on safety, patient comfort, and accuracy. You will operate diagnostic imaging equipment, document patient histories, and adhere to Radiologist standards throughout procedures.

The role requires proficiency with imaging equipment, strong communication with patients and healthcare teams, and a background in radiology with 2+ years experience.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate or Bachelor's degree and High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years experience in radiology or related field.
• BLS CPR certification and RT(R) ARRRT registration required.
• Proficiency with radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform radiology exams per protocol and Radiologist standards.
• Ensure patient safety, comfort and privacy during procedures.
• Maintain room, equipment, and documentation including patient records.
• Educate patients about procedures and obtain histories.
• Operate scanners, injectors, monitors and related radiology equipment.

Job Description

Up to a $10,000 Sign-on Bonus Available

• Practices infection control standards and utilizes approved personal protective equipment (PPE) and disinfectant agents.
• Maintains a properly stocked, organized, and clean room.
• Completes required documentation for Radiologist support and performs clerical duties, including answering telephones, completing patient records, filing, and scheduling.
• Performs direct patient care duties within the technologist’s scope of practice, including monitoring patient condition and ensuring patient comfort, safety, and privacy.
• Obtains and documents patient history and explain procedures.
• Performs radiology duties in all departments and environments, including OR and Fluoroscopy.
• Performs all imaging exams using established protocols and operates all equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, monitors, and medical equipment.
• Uses facility policy for proper identification of patients prior to performing exams and educates patients concerning the exam.
• Screens patients properly for any contrast allergies and for childbearing age, minimizing radiation exposure to patients, families, and co-workers.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Positions patients and equipment and selects technical factors to produce radiographic images meeting Radiologist’s standards in a safe, timely manner.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to perform scans on patients of all ages, adapting protocols as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Ability to analyze and assess data, techniques, methodology, equipment operation, and quality control to ensure that information is obtained and presented accurately [Required]
• Up-to-date knowledge of patient positioning and equipment operations, including x-ray producing equipment, if applicable per facility [Required]
• Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals [Required]
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry [Required]
• Able to fully use all Radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment [Required]
• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Required]
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]

Education

• Associate or Bachelor's [Preferred]
• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience

• 2+ years experience [Required]

Licenses And Certifications

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Registered Technologist – Radiography (RT(R) (ARRT)) [Required]

Pay Range

$20.58 - $44.53
