Job Summary
  • Competently performs a variety of standard, specialty, and complex diagnostic radiographic procedures with clinical and technical accuracy.
  • Administers ionizing radiation using fluoroscopy, computed and direct radiography (including mobile c‑arm and x‑ray equipment) to achieve good quality studies under a variety of conditions with little or no supervision.
  • Demonstrates sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, radiation physics, and image production.
  • Uses ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure, employing appropriate technique parameters, collimation, and correct patient positioning.
  • Applies the profession's code of ethics in all aspects of practice.
  • Maintains knowledge of, observes, and enforces safety measures in the Environment of Care.
  • Values high degree of schedule flexibility to meet demands of a busy radiology department.
Qualifications
  • Education
    • College Degree – 2 year Radiology (required)
    • High School Diploma/G.E.D. (required)
    • Graduate of formal program in Radiologic Technology (required)
    • College Degree – 4 year (preferred)
  • Licenses and Certifications
    • BLS – Basic Life Support – AHA (required within 30 days of hire)
    • CRT – California Radiologic Technologist License – CDPH (required)
    • RHF – Rad Tech/Fluoroscopy License – CDPH (required within 6 months of hire)
    • RT‑R – Rad Tech Radiography – ARRT (preferred)
  • Work Experience
    • Minimum six months experience in Diagnostic Radiology (required)
    • Pediatric experience (preferred)
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Bilingual skills preferred.
    • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
    • Experience demonstrated in knowledge, skill, and ability to practice with minimal supervision.
