Job summary

Adventist Health Bakersfield is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to operate x-ray equipment and produce diagnostic radiographs for physicians' orders. You will position patients, adjust exposure settings, and ensure safety and quality of images.

Responsibilities include documenting exam details, verifying images in PACS, and collaborating with the diagnostic team on per-diem night shifts in a busy hospital setting. ARRT-R, BLS, and CA licensing are required or soon after hire.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in radiologic technology: Preferred.
• ARRT-R certification required.
• CA/HI Radiologic Tech license required.
• BLS certification required.
• Fluoroscopy license required in CA within 6 months of hire.

Job Summary

Operates x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated portions of body as ordered by physicians. Positions and instructs patients prior to examination, adjusts the x-ray equipment and determines proper voltage as well as current and desired exposure time for each radiograph.

Job Requirements

Education and Work Experience:

• Associate's Degree in radiologic technology: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Radiography (ARRT-R): Required
• Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice: Required in CA and HI
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• Fluoroscopy license in state of employment: Required in CA within 6 months of hire

Facility Specific License/Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• Fluoroscopy (FLUORO): Required

Essential Functions

• Performs screening procedures for diagnostic interpretation. Explains procedures to patients and answers questions. Prepares equipment for use as needed. Prepares examination rooms for patient exams. Positions patients for imaging exams. Monitors patients and ensures safety during exams.
• Produces diagnostic images. Documents exam information. Reports important information to the physician.
• Verifies exams on PACS.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
