Qualifications

• Certifications in MR from ARRT, ARMRIT, or NMTCB with MR endorsement.

• Ability to perform routine and complex MRI procedures with emphasis on safety and image quality.

Responsibilities

• Obtain orders, identify and prepare patients, and document clinical history confidentially.
• Utilize imaging protocols, optimize factors, and apply ALARA for patient safety.
• Prepare and administer medications as prescribed, evaluate image quality, and verify data transfer.
• Educate and monitor staff and students, assist with MRI procedures, and minimize risks.
• Select pulse sequences and participate in quality improvement activities.

Role Overview: MRI Technologists perform and assist with magnetic resonance imaging procedures for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. They independently operate MRI equipment, prepare patients, acquire high-quality images, and ensure safety protocols are followed.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain correct orders, identify and prepare patients, and document clinical history confidentially.
• Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles for patient safety.
• Prepare and administer medications as prescribed, evaluate image quality, and verify data transfer and storage.
• Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, assist with MRI procedures, and apply safety principles to minimize risks.
• Select pulse sequences, participate in quality improvement activities, and demonstrate proficiency in routine and complex duties.

Qualifications & Skills

• Certifications from ARRT (MR), ARMRIT, or NMTCB with MR endorsement.
• Graduate of a Radiologic Technology training program; a bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
• Ability to perform both routine and complex MRI procedures, with a focus on patient safety and image quality.
