The Interventional Technologist I assists Physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to diagnose, monitor and treat simple to complex conditions, defects and/or diseases without surgery. This position is intended for those who are gaining experience in Interventional Radiology or Invasive Cardiology or are experienced Imaging professionals who wish to begin a career in the discipline.
A graduate of post‑secondary educational program in a health science (includes, but not limited to, cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, or paramedic/EMT) as defined by ARRT or CCI. Completion of JRCERT accredited Military Educational Program is accepted in lieu of other educational requirements.
No experience required.
Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. ARRT(RT), RCES or RCIS certification required within 18 months of hire.
Demonstrates knowledge and skill in applying principles of medical imaging, positioning of patients and medical ethics. Applies core knowledge and understanding of anatomy and physiology associated with specialty imaging procedures. Demonstrates ability and skill to apply theory, practices and techniques to perform, post‑process, analyze and annotate study data or procedure documentation. Applies knowledge of sterile fields consistently ensuring a safe environment for the patient. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age and patient populations served. Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to apply HIPAA guidelines and standards. Ability to prioritize and complete clinical or non‑clinical work assignments. Ability to multi‑task and remain calm in stressful situations. Ability to work as part of a diverse team and communicate effectively with others. Displays consistency and dependability by reporting to work as scheduled. Ability to be sensitive to patients’ physical and psychological needs. Ability to maintain accurate records and work accurately with names, numbers, and codes.
