Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Radiology Technician prepares patients for diagnostic procedures by explaining the process and properly positioning them to capture appropriate images. Operates equipment to produce cross-sectional images of bones, organs, and tissues.

Specific Duties:

• Completes all required paperwork promptly.
• Handles requisitions for exams efficiently.
• Schedules exams timely.
• Performs diagnostic Radiographic/Fluoroscopic C-arm exams with department and portable equipment.
• Injects IV contrast media as needed.
• Performs examinations, reconstructions, and printing protocols as directed by the Radiologist.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic equipment issues.
• Explains procedures to patients and answers questions.
• Transports patients safely to and from the department.
• Orders supplies and maintains inventory levels.
• Provides courteous and friendly service to all patients, guests, coworkers, and physicians.
• Attends required trainings and orientations.
• Collaborates effectively with floor staff to ensure excellent patient care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current and valid state licensure as a Registered Radiologic Technologist.
• AART or CMRT certification.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience in Medical Imaging (excluding school).
• Current Continuing Education in all licensure fields.
