Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital. You will maintain competency, identify and prepare patients, and deliver high-quality images in a fast-paced clinical setting.

You will ensure safety protocols, review images for accuracy, educate patients, and support students and colleagues while adhering to department procedures and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification required.
• State radiologic technologist license in practice state (if applicable).
• BLS certification for healthcare providers required.
• May be required to complete the Medical Assistant (MA) Competency Checklist.

Responsibilities

• Maintains ARRT or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions.
• Prepares the patient for the exam and ensures proper patient identification and order verification.
• Reviews images for quality, clarity, and accuracy; confirms adherence to department protocols.
• Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment.
• Completes studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or quality.
• Assists and instructs students and other Radiology Techs in exam protocols and equipment use.
• Provides patient education, ensures comfort, and addresses concerns.
• Performs infection control and sterile techniques as required.
• Keeps accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions.
• Follows protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment failures.
