Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking an X-Ray Technician to perform diagnostic radiographic procedures with a focus on image quality and radiation safety in surgical, outpatient, or clinical settings.

You will support patient care activities and maintain safety protocols to ensure accurate diagnoses. The role requires 1–2 years of radiologic technologist experience and ARRT certification, with licensure as a radiologic technologist.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of clinical Radiologic Technologist experience.
• Intraoperative imaging or orthopedic/spine experience preferred.
• ARRT certification is required and licensure as Radiologic Technologist is expected.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiographic examinations, including intraoperative and fluoroscopic imaging, following appropriate protocols and safety standards.
• Positions patients for optimal imaging results and ensures accurate labeling and uploading of images into the electronic record.
• Verifies proper shielding of all individuals during imaging procedures and adheres to ALARA principles.
• Maintains radiologic equipment, including cleaning, quality checks, and coordination of preventive maintenance and regulatory inspections.
• Tracks and monitors radiation safety measures, including dosimetry badge usage and apron quality checks.
• Educates staff and patients on radiation safety practices and device usage.
• Supports clinical care activities as needed, including assisting with patient transfers, OR turnover, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
• Participates in inventory management and supports compliance during regulatory surveys.
• Collaborates with care teams to ensure timely imaging and communication of results.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
