$2.00 per hour during regular business hours
$4.00 per hour after 5p and weekends

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position operates diagnostic imaging equipment to obtain quality digital images of designated body portions for interpretation by physicians.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Confirms patient identity, checks in patients, and schedules appointments.
- Greets and escorts patients and guests to examination rooms.
- Interprets patient histories and physician instructions.
- Prepares patients for procedures using aseptic and sterile techniques.
- Positions patients for radiologic examinations, selects exposure factors, takes exposures, and processes images, practicing radiation protection.
- Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures to produce digitized images.
- Records pertinent information on requisitions.
- Enters medication, laboratory, and radiology orders into the electronic medical record following guidelines.
- Responds to patient emergencies as needed.
- Cleans work areas and equipment; performs limited maintenance.
- Manages images within PACS and NextGen systems.
- Documents patient information accurately and timely.
- Handles check-out duties, ensuring proper completion of encounter forms and sending reminders.
- Serves as liaison between patients and physicians, ensuring follow-up.
- Maintains compliance with regulations and standards of care.
- Supports clinical staff and performs other duties within scope of licensure.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program or equivalent experience.
- Valid ARRT registration and CPR certification.
- 1-2 years of experience preferred.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS (ABILITIES & SKILLS):
- Knowledge of radiology procedures and policies.
- Ability to practice radiation safety.

MINIMUM PHYSICAL EXPECTATIONS:
- Prolonged keyboarding, phone work, and charting.
- Handling and lifting patients, standing, bending, reaching, and climbing.
- Lifting over 50 lbs regularly; up to 100 lbs occasionally.
- Visual and manual dexterity requirements.
- Good hearing and speaking skills for communication.
MINIMUM ENVIRONMENTAL EXPECTATIONS:
Work in a medical setting involving patient care equipment, exposure to hazardous materials, bodily fluids, sharps, x-rays, and contagious diseases. Interaction with distressed or ill patients can be stressful, with competing priorities.
