Job description

SHIFTS CONSIDERED:

Weekdays: 12-hour shifts also available!

7:45 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

4:00 p.m. - Midnight

Weekends:

8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

7:45 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Shift Differential for all shifts:

$2.00 per hour during regular hours

$4.00 per hour after 5 p.m. and on weekends.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This position operates diagnostic imaging equipment to obtain quality digital images of designated body parts for interpretation by physicians.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Confirms patient identity, checks in patients, and schedules appointments.
  2. Creates Radiology Module.
  3. Greets and escorts patients and guests to examination rooms courteously.
  4. Interprets patient histories and physician instructions.
  5. Prepares patients for procedures using aseptic and sterile techniques.
  6. Positions patients for radiologic examinations, selects exposure factors, takes exposures, and processes images, practicing radiation protection.
  7. Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures applying ionizing radiation to produce digitized images.
  8. Operates diagnostic bone density equipment to obtain necessary information and images per ISCD criteria, if applicable.
  9. Records relevant information on requisitions.
  10. Enters medication, laboratory, and radiology orders into the electronic medical record following guidelines.
  11. Responds to patient emergencies as needed.
  12. Cleans work areas, examination rooms, and equipment; performs limited maintenance.
  13. Manages images within PACS and NextGen systems as required.
  14. Documents patient information accurately and timely to ensure quality care.
  15. Assists with completing encounter forms thoroughly and accurately during check-out.
  16. Sends letters and reminders to patients.
  17. Serves as liaison between patient and physician, ensuring timely follow-up.
  18. Maintains compliance with government, reimbursement, and clinic standards.
  19. Supports clerical and clinical staff as needed, including answering phones, managing medical records requests, and working with the fax server/mail, per scope of practice.
  20. Performs other duties within the scope of Radiology Technology and/or Clinical Densitometry certification/registration/licensure.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology or equivalent experience. For Bone Density imaging, graduation from an accredited clinical densitometry program or equivalent.

CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE: Valid CPR certification. Valid ARRT registration. For Bone Density, certification by the International Society of Clinical Densitometry or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years of relevant experience.
