Job summary

Providence Newberg Medical Center in Newberg, OR is seeking a Radiology Technologist for a full-time, evening shift (Tuesday–Friday, 3:00 p.m.–1:30 a.m.) to perform imaging exams according to physician orders using a range of imaging equipment, while applying ALARA principles to protect patients and staff.

Qualified applicants must hold an Oregon Radiographer License or Temporary License at hire, with ARRT certification within six months and current BLS.

Qualifications

• Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement.
• Upon hire: Oregon Radiographer License
• Upon hire: Oregon Radiographer Temporary License
• Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: National Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association Notes: (1) New graduates must have OBMI temporary license and obtain permanent license within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• The Radiology Technologist performs imaging examinations according to physicians orders, utilizing a variety of sophisticated imaging equipment.
• Takes into account individual patients' unique and/or age-related needs.
• Uses clinical knowledge and judgment for proper positioning, radiation dose calibration and technique to produce high-quality images.
• Performs examinations with minimal radiation exposure to patient and operator (ALARA).
