Job summary

Qualifications

Job description

Radiology Technologist – Monday–Friday 0800 am–430 pm, Every Other Weekend, Rotating Holidays

Pay Range: $25.12–$40.19

Purpose of Job

The Radiologic Technologist performs radiologic procedures to diagnose diseases and injuries, evaluates the technical quality of radiographs, provides procedural‑related patient care and education, and maintains records and documentation for procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain imaging equipment to provide high‑quality images for patient diagnosis, obtain quality radiographs within acceptable time frames, process and accurately digitize images with correct patient data.
• Prepare patients for radiological procedures and follow established patient care and safety guidelines.
• Use appropriate technique and shielding to obtain optimal images while adhering to ALARA principles. Program the machine to the proper voltage, current, and desired exposure time as directed by the physician.
• Troubleshoot equipment and scanner to ensure it is running smoothly and avoid downtime.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work area and report all safety hazards immediately.
• Track patients according to department procedures, identify errors, and take immediate action for corrections, as evidenced by the Radiology Information System reports.
• Ensure rooms are stocked with appropriate supplies and that required supplies are readily available for procedures.
• Assist in student training and participate in ongoing in‑service training programs.
• Assume other duties and responsibilities that are related and appropriate to the position and area.

Required Qualifications

• Knowledge of patient transfers and positioning techniques.
• Exhibit ALARA principles when operating the machine.
• Address patient concerns during the procedure and explain the process to provide comfort, ensure safety, and guarantee the best care possible.
• Capable of lifting moderate to heavy loads and standing for extended periods.
• Use tact, courtesy, and poise while dealing with anxious patients.
• Troubleshoot equipment to ensure it is running smoothly and avoid downtime.
• Handle a high‑stress environment calmly.
• Use independent judgment.
• Maintain good communication skills.

Qualified Candidates

• Must be a Registered Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Have at least two (2) years’ experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
• Hold any required certifications or licensure, including Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support (Basic Life Support/ BLS).
