Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Radiology Tech Assistant to support the Radiology team with the use of the Radiology Information System, basic computer skills, and excellent communication skills.

You will organize rooms, stock supplies, assist with patient transport, and help ensure efficient department operations. A High School Diploma or GED is required; BLS is preferred and must be obtained before direct patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS Basic Life Support required or obtained before direct patient care.
• 1 year of patient care experience preferred.
• Experience with Radiology Information System preferred.
• EPIC EHR and PACS training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organizes rooms, stocks linen and supplies.
• Transports patients using stretchers, beds and wheelchairs with proper identifiers.
• Reviews daily department schedules to coordinate with radiology team.
• Maintains imaging area supplies and informs if restocking is needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support department operations.

Job Summary:

The Radiology Tech Assistant supports the needs of the Radiology team with the use of the Radiology Information System, basic computer skills, and excellent communication skills.

Essential Functions:

• Organizes rooms, stocks linen, changes and properly removes linen.
• Uses two patient identifiers prior to transporting patients to and from Radiology that are not requiring patient monitor or high flow oxygen.
• Properly operates stretchers, patient beds, and wheelchairs.
• Reviews daily department schedules in order to work efficiently with the Radiologic team members.
• Maintains office and medical supplies in all imaging areas and informs team leader when supplies need to be ordered.
• Other duties as assigned that are deemed necessary for department operations.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED (required)

Required Licensing & Certifications:

• BLS Basic Life Support – American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care) (required)

Experience:

• 1 year of patient care experience (preferred)
• Experience with Radiology Information System (preferred).

Training:

• EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred)
• Picture archiving communication system (PACS) (preferred)
