Position Summary

As a BMC Radiologic Technologist, you will perform vital X-ray imaging for trauma, inpatients, and outpatients, aiding providers in accurate diagnosis. You will gain experience with advanced technology while collaborating with our Radiology Team to support our mission.

Job Responsibilities

Diagnostic Imaging

• Perform studies promptly, using proper techniques and the lowest dose possible
• Set up equipment, produce quality radiographs, and assist as needed
• Perform exams on patients of all ages across various departments
• Ensure timely turnaround of exams to reduce delays in care
• Follow established protocols, matching exams to patient presentation and history

Patient Care and Safety

• Prepare patients, ensuring safety, comfort, and modesty
• Validate patient identity and exam details each time
• Monitor patient condition during exams and respond appropriately
• Follow infection control and safety procedures, using AIDET communication

Administrative Duties

• Document exams accurately in RIS and PACS
• Maintain professionalism and proper communication with staff and patients
• Keep licensure, certifications, and mandatory compliance current

Job Requirements

• Current or ability to obtain Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist License and ARRT Certification, or a temporary license with passing the ARRT exam within one year
• Current BLS/CPR Certification or ability to obtain prior to start
• Completion of two years post-high school training in radiologic technology
• Knowledge of diagnostic radiology principles and equipment operation

Preferred Qualifications and Role Expectations

• One year of hospital radiologic technology experience preferred
• Maintain Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
• Excellent communication skills and initiative
