Position Summary

As a Radiologic Technologist at BMC, you will perform vital X-ray imaging for trauma, inpatients, and outpatients to assist providers in accurate diagnosis and care. You will work with cutting-edge technology and collaborate with the Radiology Team to support our mission.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform timely and proper imaging studies, ensuring the lowest possible radiation dose.
  • Set up equipment, produce quality radiographs, and perform duties as directed by supervisors.
  • Conduct exams on patients of all ages across various departments.
  • Ensure quick turnaround times to reduce delays in care.
  • Follow established protocols, verifying that exams match patient history and presentation.
Patient Care and Safety
  • Prepare patients, ensuring safety, comfort, and modesty.
  • Verify patient identifiers before exams.
  • Monitor patient condition during procedures and respond as needed.
  • Follow infection control and safety procedures, using AIDET communication.
Administrative Duties
  • Document exams accurately in Radiology Information System and PACS.
  • Maintain professionalism in interactions and phone etiquette.
  • Keep licensure, certifications, CEUs, and mandatory compliance current.
Job Requirements
  • Current or obtainable Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist License and ARRT Certification, or a Temporary license with passing the ARRT exam within one year.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain it before start.
  • Completion of two years post-high school radiologic technology training.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic radiology principles and equipment operation.
Preferred Qualifications & Expectations
  • One year hospital radiologic technology experience preferred.
  • Maintain continuing education units.
  • Excellent communication and initiative skills.
