Highpoint Health Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas is seeking a Radiology Technologist to join our dedicated team in delivering high-quality imaging services. The role involves patient education, image acquisition, QC, and collaboration with radiologists across CT and other modalities.

Qualifications

• Graduates of a program in Radiologic Technology are required.
• Active license from the Tennessee Radiologic Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board of Examiners is required.
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiology is required.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Review patient history and physician orders.
• Educate patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure understanding.
• Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice when ordered.
• Monitor patient condition and report changes as appropriate.
• Select exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Prepare equipment and supplies; ensure safety standards and perform QC on equipment.
• Position patient and perform imaging procedures.
• Analyze results and identify issues with image quality; take action as needed.
• Enter, transmits and reports scan results.
• Willingness to train in CT.

Monday-Friday, 3 p.m.-11 p.m.

How You'll Contribute

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
• Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate
• Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Prepares equipment and supplies. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
• Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
• Enters, transmits and reports scan results
• Willingness to train in CT

Highpoint Health - Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas is a 157-bed facility that includes 131 licensed acute care beds and 26 skilled nursing home beds. Fully accredited by The Joint Commission, the hospital offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services supported by a qualified and diverse medical staff. Key services include a 10-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a 12-bed Geriatric Psychiatry Unit, and a 12-bed Acute Inpatient Physical Rehabilitation Unit. The facility also features a Skilled Nursing Unit, Sleep Lab, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, five Operating Rooms, and two Endoscopy Suites. Diagnostic imaging services include MRI, CT, PET/CT, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, and X-ray. The hospital's 13-bay Emergency Department sees more than 15,000 patient visits annually.

Highpoint Health - Sewanee with Ascension Saint Thomas, located on the campus of the University of the South, is a 41-bed facility offering 21 general acute care beds and 20 skilled nursing beds. It includes a 4-bay Emergency Department that treats more than 5,000 patients each year.
