Highpoint Health Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas is hiring a Surgery RN to join our busy team. You will provide direct patient care through the nursing process, circulate within surgical and endoscopic procedures, and collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia teams to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Active Tennessee licensure is required with an associate degree; BSN preferred. Certifications like BLS/ACLS/PALS will be required within specified timeframes.

• Collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other departments to ensure quality patient care.
• Provides patient and family education and discharge instructions.
• Supports departmental quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have an Active Tennessee license (single-state or compact) and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins. Additional requirements include:

• Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire, AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire, AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire.
• Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Experience: One-year previous experience preferred.
• Licenses: Must be a licensed Registered Nurse with the State of Tennessee or a licensed Registered Nurse from a Compact State with the proper Tennessee paperwork filed within 30 days of hire.
• Education: Associate's degree required. BSN preferred.

Highpoint Health - Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas is a 157-bed facility that includes 131 licensed acute care beds and 26 skilled nursing home beds. Fully accredited by The Joint Commission, the hospital offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services supported by a qualified and diverse medical staff. Key services include a 10-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a 12-bed Geriatric Psychiatry Unit, and a 12-bed Acute Inpatient Physical Rehabilitation Unit.
