NATURE OF POSITION

The Radiology Technologist performs high-quality diagnostic imaging exams - specifically X-rays and DEXA scans as ordered by physicians. Prepare patients for exams, safely operate specialized X-ray equipment, position patients accurately, and maintain equipment quality control to assist physicians with interpretation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Minimum of an Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program.
  • State & National Licensing: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or similar accreditation.
  • Certified Bone Densitometry Technologist (CBDT) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or the International Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD) or willingness to obtain.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills for patient education, and a high degree of technical precision.

SALARY GRACE AND CLASSIFICATION: LI - III Non-Exempt

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Patient Care: Prepare and educate patients on X-Ray/DEXA procedures, verify medical histories, and explain the scan process to alleviate anxiety.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate radiographic equipment, adjust machine controls (kVp, mA. Conduct Dual-Energy X-ray including Absorptiometry (DEXA) scans according to manufacturer protocols to assess bone mineral density Bone Densitometry/X-Ray Technician.
  • Image Acquisition: Precisely position patients and immobilize them to obtain accurate, high-quality images of skeletal sites (such as the hip, spine, and forearm).
  • Radiation Safety: Adhere to "ALARA" (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles by using protective shields and proper techniques.
  • Clinical and Administrative: Generate reports, process scan data for radiologist review, and update electronic health records (EHR). Assist with troubleshooting equipment, routine quality control checks, and daily room sterilization.
