Job Description

Operates X-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body. Performs quality control checks and maintains required documentation.

Job Responsibilities

1. Translate examination procedures into layman's terms to help relieve patient anxiety.
2. Perform various X-ray exams according to established standards and procedures.
3. Position patients for radiographs following departmental SOPs.
4. Recognize and promptly report patient motor abnormalities, fainting, discoloration, contrast reactions, etc., to the Radiologist.
5. Operate equipment for transferring computed images to film and archival of disc memory to tape.
6. Use film markers and ensure images are properly labeled as 'right' or 'left' side.
7. Ensure images are legibly labeled with correct date and patient information.
8. Enter patient history data and other relevant information from requisitions.
9. Attach or adjust immobilization and supportive devices as needed.
10. Perform related duties as required, considering all responsibilities as essential functions under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Job Qualifications

• Vocational or Technical school diploma required.
• Current license to practice as a Radiology Technologist in New York State required.
• Current ARRT Radiology registration required.
• 0-3 years of technical experience required.

Additional Details

• 1-2 years fluoroscopy experience preferred.
• Ability to work during operating hours: Monday - Friday (8am-8pm) and rotating weekends (9am-2pm).
