Job Description

Operates X-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated body parts. Performs quality control checks and maintains required documentation.

Job Responsibilities

• Explain procedures to patients in layman's terms to ease anxiety.
• Perform various X-ray exams according to established standards and procedures.
• Position patients correctly for radiographs following departmental protocols.
• Recognize and report patient abnormalities such as fainting, discoloration, or contrast reactions to the Radiologist.
• Operate equipment to transfer images to film or digital media for archiving.
• Properly mark images with film markers indicating right or left side.
• Label images with correct date and patient identification clearly.
• Enter patient history and relevant data from requisitions into the system.
• Assist with immobilization and supportive devices as needed.
• Perform additional related duties as required, considering all responsibilities as essential functions under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Job Qualifications

• Vocational or Technical school diploma required.
• Current license to practice as a Radiology Technologist in New York State required.
• Current ARRT Radiology registration required.
• 0-3 years of technical experience required.

Additional Details

• 1-2 years of fluoroscopy experience preferred.
• Availability to work Monday to Friday (8am-8pm) and rotating weekends (9am-2pm).
