Job description

Bluegrass Specialty Surgery Center is hiring a Radiology Technologist for our Surgical Services Department in Lexington, KY.

The Radiology Technologist will operate X-ray equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images during surgery. As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible following established radiological requirements and regulations ensure the safety of our patients and team members.

This Radiology Technologist opportunity is a full-time position located on-site at our surgery center in Lexington, KY. The Radiology Technologist reports to the OR Manager.

Radiology Technologist Assistant Roles and Responsibilities :

Philosophy

a) Supports the facility's ideology, mission, goals, and objectives

b) Performs in accordance with the facility's policies and procedures

e) Recognizes patients' rights and responsibilities and supports them in performance of job

duties

Communication

a) Communicates effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, physicians, and

coworkers

b) Interacts with others in a positive, respectful, and considerate manner

a) Uses facility resources appropriately and avoids wasteful practices

c) Analyzes work area and makes recommendations for potential cost-effective improvements

Compliance program

a) Contributes to the progress and development of the organization's adopted compliance

Safety / risk-management program

a) Adheres to safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities

Duties

a) Operate radiologic equipment to produce images for diagnostic purposes.

b) Position radiologic equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance

according to specification of examination. Take x-rays following established radiologic

requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety

c) Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure safety of patients and team

members

d) Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order. Report equipment malfunctions to supervisor

e) Maintain sterile field

f) Serve as back-up for team members as needed

g) help turn over between cases

Required Skills & Qualifications :

  • Associate of Applied Science Degree for RadiologyTechnology
  • Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification
  • State of Kentucky Radiation License
  • Positive attitude, desire to efficiently support the care of patients, work in a team relationship with other health care workers to produce positive outcomes
  • Ability to promote favorable facility image with physicians, patients, insurance companies and the public
  • Knowledge of radiologic standards, requirements, and regulations
  • Knowledge of radiologic safety, cleanliness, and infection control policies
  • Knowledge of radiologic equipment uses and maintenance
