Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform a variety of imaging procedures under general supervision. You will operate and maintain imaging equipment, position patients, and capture images as requested by physicians.

You will complete quality assurance steps, follow radiation safety practices to minimize exposure, and ensure timely communication of results to the on-duty physician. A high school diploma and ARRT certification are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Graduation from an AMA-approved school of radiology technology.
  • Certification in general radiologic technology by ARRT.
  • Current BLS certification is required.
  • Associate degree in radiology is preferred.

Job description

Position Summary: Performs a variety of imaging procedures consistent with established policies and procedures at a technical level typically requiring general supervision.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Gives straightforward explanations and instructions to foster a sense of comfort and confidence to patients and ensure the needs of individual patients are met.
  • Operates and maintains all assigned imaging department equipment including but not limited to x-ray.
  • Positions patients and uses radiologic equipment to correctly capture the images requested by a physician.
  • Accurately performs all imaging exams as ordered in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulations, and laws; ensures the physician on duty is notified of the results.
  • Completes quality assurance processes and practices radiation safety in order to reduce exposure to patients, staff and self.
Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Graduation from an AMA-approved school of radiology technology.
  • Certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
  • Current BLS certification.
Preferred
  • Associate degree in radiology.
