Position Summary: The Registered Radiology Tech will perform diagnostic procedures in an outpatient setting.

Schedule:

  • Monday - Thursday, 9:00 PM - 7:30 AM, with rotating weekends.

  • Counsels patients on radiographic examinations.
  • Lifts and correctly positions patients onto examination tables to achieve desired radiographic results.
  • Determines proper technical factors such as voltage, current, exposure time, and focal distance based on patient size, physical condition, and suspected pathology.
  • Adjusts lead shields to protect unaffected parts of the patient's anatomy.
  • Selects and loads proper film, positions X-ray equipment at correct distances, and operates equipment according to specific diagnostic procedures.
  • Operates portable X-ray equipment and uses specialized equipment such as tomography.
  • Verifies that all patient films, examination requisitions, and records are properly completed.
  • Processes films, reloads cassettes, and reviews developed films for quality.
  • Checks equipment and accessories to ensure proper operation and reports malfunctions.
  • Transports patients as required.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area and regularly checks for adequate diagnostic supplies.
  • High school diploma required; an Associate’s degree in radiologic technology preferred.
  • At least two years of experience as a Radiation Technologist.
  • Certification as a Medical Radiation Technologist by the Maryland Board of Physician Quality Assurance required.
  • Certification from ARRT required.
  • AHA BLS CPR certification required.
