Location: Geneva, NY (Finger Lakes Region).
Performs technical radiographic assignments. Exercises complex skill, judgement and knowledge of the principles and methods of Radiologic Technology. Performs diagnostic radiographic studies as requested. Operates portable diagnostic radiographic equipment where needed. Performs Infection Control according to Universal Precautions. Radiologic Technologist shall have the ability to provide care to infant, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.
Job Duties:
-Operates with accuracy: Radiographic equipment, Image processor, and other related equipment of similar scope and complexity across different modalities. Evaluates image quality and demonstrates accuracy of radiographic positioning based on procedure guidelines.
-Ensures that proper radiation protection is used for self, patient and other personnel by use of proper collimation and lead shielding when applicable.
-Demonstrates flexibility in assuming emergency call weekday, weekend and holiday rotation in addition to routine hours.
Demonstrates competency in RIS. Utilizes system to enter and edit patient demographics and charges. Records other appropriate data including repeat rate, notes, etc. Demonstrates competency with CR & PACS for image processing, image review, proper protocol selection, care and use of imaging plates and cassettes as well as troubleshooting.
-Ensures and follows the prescribed techniques in administering all aspects of Radiology and contrast media. Recognizes emergency situations in regard to reactions to contrast media and take appropriate action.
Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens is reasonably anticipated. Required tasks involve a potential contact with blood, body fluids, tissues.
EDUCATION: Minimum: • Radiology Technology program in AMA approved 2 year program or AAS degree in Radiologic Technology. LICENSE: Minimum: • NYS license PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS: Minimum: • ARRT certification WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum: • Completion of 24 month course by a recognized AMA approved school in Radiology.
