Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Radiology Technologist to join our team at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, MD. The ideal candidate will be ARRT certified and Maryland-licensed, with excellent communication skills.

A limited-time $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered. In this role you will perform diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, obtain patient histories and vital signs, and work with PACS to create CDs.

Qualifications

• ARRT Radiology Technology certification and Maryland license required.
• Associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops film and prepares radiology room; transports patients and maintains room cleanliness.
• Maintains X-ray equipment and reports unsafe conditions.

About The Job

MedStar Health is looking for a Radiology Technologist to join our team at Medstar Union Memorial Hospital! The ideal candidate will be a registered Radiology Technologist with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

As a Radiology Technologist, you will perform diagnostic medical radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures through interpretation, EKGs, phlebotomy, IV insertions, autologous and therapeutic donations, and obtain vital signs.

Primary Duties

• Develops film including evaluating film for technical quality. Transport patients to radiographic room as needed. Prepares and maintains room.
• Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas. Reports any unsafe or potentially unsafe conditions. Maintains X-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order. Performs preventative maintenance regularly.
• Obtains patient history, answers patient questions, and explains procedures. Obtains vital signs, as indicated, along with required documentation. Prepares written documentation such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, and progress reports. Access, manipulate, store and Create CD's from PACS.
• Performs radiographic examinations. May assist a licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic, specialized interventional procedures. May perform non-interpretive fluoroscopic procedures as appropriate and consistent with applicable state statutes.
• Requests and orders supply as needed to keep materials on hand. Checks drug supplies and informs the appropriate person of what needs to be re-stocked.

Qualifications

• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) Radiology Technology and license in the State of Maryland.
• Associate degree preferred.
