Job summary

MedStar Health in Maryland is seeking a Radiology Technologist to join our team across multiple MedStar facilities. You will perform clinical radiology duties, support patient flow, prepare and process imaging, and ensure safety and quality in imaging procedures.

The role includes administrative tasks and collaborative work with physicians under supervision. Applicants should have ARRT certification, BLS, and a high school diploma; a preferred associate degree and Maryland ARRT registration.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) in the State of Maryland.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acquires ordered images including evaluating these images for technical quality.
• Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas. Reports unsafe conditions and maintains equipment in good order.
• Obtains patient history, answers questions, and explains procedures; transports patients to radiographic room and prepares the room.
• Performs radiographic examinations and prepares written documentation (evaluation results, treatment plans, progress reports).
• Requests and orders supplies.

As a Radiology Technologist, you will perform clinical and administrative duties in the MedStar Health Settings consistent with policies & procedures. Works under the supervision of a physician and performs patient intake, standing orders or protocols, venipuncture, laboratorytestingand patient follow up. Will also administer oral, IM, SC, or intradermal medications when ordered by a provider, afterdemonstratingcompetency to the Clinical Professional Development Specialist or designee. Clinical Care Specialists (CCSs) certified as Radiologic Technologists also perform andtransmitX-ray diagnostic images. This position asappropriate inthe medical record and supportsoptimalpatient flow.

Primary Duties:

• Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas. Reports any unsafe or potentially unsafe conditions. Maintains X-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order.Performs preventative maintenance regularly.
• Obtains patient history, answers patient questions, and explains procedures.Transports patients to radiographic room and prepares andmaintainsroom.
• Performs radiographic examinations. Prepares written documentation such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, and progress reports.
• Requests and orderssupply.

Qualifications:
