Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan is seeking a Radiology Technologist for full-time, 3rd shift, 6:00pm–6:30am. This role involves operating and maintaining radiology equipment, positioning patients, and performing imaging exams with adherence to safety and QA standards.

You will work with physicians to ensure accurate imaging, with on-call duties and weekend coverage as required. ARRT certification and an AMA-approved radiology program are required, along with current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduation from an AMA-approved school of radiology technology.
• ARRT certification in general radiologic technology.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures to patients to build comfort and trust.
• Operate and maintain imaging department equipment including x-ray.
• Position patients and capture images as requested by physicians.
• Perform imaging exams per policies, and notify physician on duty of results.
• Complete QA and practice radiation safety to minimize exposure.

RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST - FULL TIME - 3rd SHIFT Variable

Position Summary: Performs a variety of imaging procedures consistent with established policies and procedures at a technical level typically requiring general supervision.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Gives straightforward explanations and instructions to foster a sense of comfort and confidence to patients and ensure the needs of individual patients are met.
• Operates and maintains all assigned imaging department equipment including but not limited to x-ray.
• Positions patients and uses radiologic equipment to correctly capture the images requested by a physician.
• Accurately performs all imaging exams as ordered in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulations, and laws; ensures the physician on duty is notified of the results.
• Completes quality assurance processes and practices radiation safety in order to reduce exposure to patients, staff and self.

Required

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduation from an AMA-approved school of radiology technology.
• Certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
• Current BLS certification.

Preferred

• Associate degree in radiology.
