Job description

Radiologic Technologist - X Ray Technician

Location: Capitol Heights, MD

Pay Rate: From $32

MUST:

• Be a positive, friendly individual eager to join our team.
• Be available to work three 12-hour shifts or flexible hours, including evenings and every other weekend.
• Be an experienced X-Ray Technician.
• Possess at least one year of clinical experience (preferred).
• Be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Be licensed as a Radiologic Technologist or Limited Radiologic Technologist by the Maryland Board of Health Professions.
• If Limited Radiologic Technologist, be licensed in the following areas: chest/thorax, extremities, skull/sinuses, spine, and abdomen/pelvis.
• Have knowledge of medical terminology.
• Possess exceptional customer service skills.
• Have high attention to detail and strong time management skills.
• Be able to multi-task efficiently under pressure.
• Be capable of working autonomously in a small group and as a team player.

DUTIES:

1. Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuing education.
2. Ensure a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
3. Gain patient cooperation by reducing anxieties, providing explanations, and answering questions.
4. Prepare patients for radiological procedures by proper positioning, immobilization, and equipment adjustment.
5. Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques.
6. Adhere to infection control policies and protocols, and manage drug protocols in case of reactions.
7. Collaborate with clinical staff and physicians to provide excellent patient care.
8. Complete all required paperwork for each procedure or exam.
9. Assist in retrieving and stocking supplies.
