Job summary

Lifepoint Health’s Centerpoint Health – Winchester seeks a Radiology Technician for PRN/as-needed imaging support. You will review orders, educate patients, prepare contrast, and perform imaging procedures while maintaining safety standards.

The ideal candidate Graduates from a Radiology program and holds ARRT certification with BCLS. This role offers comprehensive benefits and on-site parking.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Radiology program.
• Current Radiation Operator Certificate in state of practice; ARRT certification in Radiology.
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient history and physician orders; educates patients on procedures and exams.
• Prepares/ administers contrast media and/or medications as ordered; monitors patient condition.
• Sets exposure factors and imaging parameters; ensures safety standards are met.
• Performs quality control checks on equipment and reports malfunctions.
• Positions patients and performs imaging procedures; analyzes results and takes corrective action.

How You'll Contribute

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patients on procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice as ordered. Monitors patient condition and responds to changes as appropriate.
• Prepares equipment and supplies, selects exposure factors and imaging parameters, and ensures compliance with safety standards.
• Performs quality control checks on equipment; troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports malfunctions as necessary.
• Positions patients and performs imaging procedures. Analyzes results, identifies quality issues, and takes corrective action including repositioning or repeating procedures.
• Enters, transmits, and reports scan results accurately.
• Provides direct support in meeting departmental service levels.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• Education: Graduate of a Radiology program required.
• License/Certifications: Current Radiation Operator Certificate in state of practice; registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiology; BCLS required.
