Job summary

Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, KY, seeks a Radiology Technician to perform imaging procedures per established practice standards and to ensure patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities include reviewing orders, educating patients, administering contrast as needed, selecting exposure settings, and maintaining equipment quality. ARRT and KY licensure timelines are required for hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Program in Discipline - required or validated by current licensure; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• (KY) State Radiation Operator’s License or temporary (KY) license.
• ARRT certification within 6 months of hire.
• BCLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Critical thinking and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
• Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment and exam.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports changes.
• Prepares equipment and supplies.
• Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Implements safety standards and quality control procedures on equipment.
• Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and reports as needed.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedures.
• Analyzes results and identifies issues with image quality.
• Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues.
