Qualifications

• Graduate of program in discipline or validated by current licensure.
• KY State Radiation Operators License or Temporary KY State Radiation Operators License.
• ARRT within 6 months of hire.
• BCLS within 90 days of hire.
• Requires critical thinking and decisive judgment with minimal supervision.
• Must work well in a stressful environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs imaging procedures in accordance with scope and practice standards.
• Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and medications within scope.
• Monitors patient condition and responds to changes.
• Prepares equipment and supplies for imaging.
• Selects exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Follows safety standards and quality control for equipment.
• Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and reports issues.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedures as needed.
• Enters and transmits scan results and reports.
