Qualifications

• Be fully licensed to perform radiologic procedures by a State Radiologic Technology Board.
• Possess current ARRT certification.
• Have a minimum of one year of related work experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
• Maintain current CPR certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Possess strong organizational, communication, and patient-care skills.
• Be able to work effectively in a correctional healthcare environment and follow all safety, security, and medical protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine radiologic procedures ordered by medical staff.
• Independently perform radiographic examinations including chest, bone, skull, spine, and portable X-rays.
• Select appropriate exposure factors and patient positioning to obtain high-quality images.
• Receive patients and explain procedures to alleviate anxiety.
• Notify Radiologist of preliminary abnormalities observed.
• Schedule radiologic examinations and maintain accurate records.
• Coordinate transfer of radiologic records to promote continuity of care.
• Evaluate radiologic equipment for calibration and maintenance.
