Job summary

Durango Outpatient Surgery Center in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Radiology Technician for a PRN schedule. This ambulatory surgery center handles high-volume procedures and emphasizes fast, safe, patient-centered care.

The role includes performing radiographs, IV/contrast administration, operating room radiology, and collaboration with radiology staff to ensure quality and safety. ARRT registration and CPR certification are required, with OR X-ray experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology or X-Ray program.
  • ARRT Registered.
  • CPR certification by AHA.
  • 1+ years of OR C-Arm and portable X-ray experience.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission regulations.
  • Independent decision making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients and families.
  • Professional verbal and non-verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Perform radiographs in the primary work area and demonstrate competency in IV/contrast administration, orthopedic/pediatric/OR/fluoroscopic radiology.
  • Operate X-ray equipment and adjust exposure per safety procedures.
  • Prepare supplies, position patients, and explain procedures; report patient condition changes to staff.
  • Monitor equipment and assist with fluoroscopic exams and studies.
  • Record film details and label with identifying information.
  • Consult with lead X-ray tech and radiologist to ensure quality standards.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work area.

Durango Outpatient Surgery Center has an opening for aRadiology Technician- PRN.

Durango Outpatient Surgery Center is an Ambulatory Surgery Center in Las Vegas, NV. We offer our physicians lightning fast turn over times and our patient’s unique personalized service. this is a high volume, fast paced, multi-specialty surgery center! Our mission is to provide first class surgical services to the local community in a safe, comfortable, welcoming environment one in which we would be happy to treat our own families. We have 5 operating rooms offering a full range of surgical procedures including: Bariatrics, Colorectal, General Surgery/Robotics, GI, OB/Gynecology, Sports Medicine, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Podiatry, and Spinal.

What You will Do (Job Summary) :
  • Perform the described duties in the primary work area and demonstrate competency in the following: IV and contrast administration, orthopedic radiology, pediatric radiology, operating room Radiology, trauma Radiology, GI Radiology, outpatient and inpatient diagnostic Radiology, myelography and arthrography.
  • Perform a variety of technical tasks involved in operating x ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body as specified by physician; adjust equipment for proper exposure, voltage and current in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures.
  • Determine, prepare and set up medical supplies, instruments and equipment; explain x ray procedures to patients; position patients for each anatomical view specified using immobilization and protective devices as required; report any changes in patient condition to attending medical staff.
  • Monitor accessory equipment and assist attending physician with fluoroscopic examinations and special radiographic studies.
  • Record amount and type of film exposed; label film with identifying information; sort as required.
  • Consult with lead x-ray tech and radiologist to ensure compliance with established standards of quality.
  • Process film in accordance with standardized procedures and maintain assigned work area in clean and orderly condition.
Monday-Friday work schedule
NO call required
NO Nights, NO Weekends, NO Holiday work hours
Required Skills:
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Radiology Technology or XRay Technology
  • ARRT Registered
  • CPR Current and accredited by AHA.
  • 1+ years of experience in C-Arm and Portable x-rays in operating room setting
  • Knowledgeable of local, state, federal and Joint Commission Regulations.
  • Must possess independent decision making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication skills with the staff, physicians, patients and families.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and non-verbally in a professional way.
