University of Washington Medical Center – Northwest in Seattle is seeking an MRI Level II-trained Radiology Technical Assistant for the night shift. You will prepare patients, assist technologists, and help with transfers and positioning under supervision.
Responsibilities include patient transport, RIS/PACS data input, and maintaining a safe, efficient workflow. A high school diploma and CPR/BLS certification are required or obtained soon after hire, with C.N.A. preferred.
Job Description University of Washington Medical Center – Northwest – Radiology has an outstanding opportunity for a MRI Level II Trained Radiology Technical Assistant.
Prepare patient for diagnostic examination and assists technologist with limited procedures, under supervision, includes but is not limited to: Greeting patient and escorts to appropriate exam room. Using a professional, ethical, and caring demeanor, prepares and informs patients of exam procedure: Identify self, confirm name of patient and type of exam, explain the length of exam, and introduce technologist to the patient. If so assigned, assist with transferring and positioning the patient safely and properly for examination, under the direct supervision of the technologist.
Transport patients, if so assigned, including but not limited to: Utilize established patient transportation procedures and safety measures. Maintain observation of patient during transport. Notify nurse immediately if patient experiences distress or health problems. Maintain transport equipment; assure equipment is clean, in good working order, and prepared for transport use. Lift, position, and transfer patients, using safe-lifting techniques and tools.

In order to provide a high level of customer service and necessary coverage, all staff members are required to assist in other areas (such as order entry, image library, scheduling, patient transport); work weekends, other shifts, holidays; and help co-workers with workload and projects.
