Job summary

Bozeman Health in Montana seeks an Acute Care MRI Technologist Trainee. You will learn to operate an MRI scanner, acquire high quality images, and support radiologists in interpretation while ensuring safety and efficiency.

Job description

The Acute Care Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist Trainee provides health care services by assisting in diagnosis or treatment. Will learn to perform MRI procedures, producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Learning the operation of a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used in the diagnosis and treatment of patient pathologies. With the added knowledge of imaging techniques and cross-sectional anatomy to create high quality images for interpretation by radiologists and other medical professionals. Modifies technical settings and adjusts scanning parameters to enhance images and minimize unnecessary exposure. Performs routine inspections and maintenance on scanner and archives imaging data.

Required

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited Radiology program or equivalent
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Demonstrates willingness to learn and grow in order to perform emergency/trauma MRI procedures that may require anesthesia and other MRI exams for all populations including Neonates, Pediatrics, and adults
• Shows a general knowledge of MRI and the safety practices that are involved with imaging patients.

Essential Job Functions

In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must maintain timely completion of all required education, trainings, and certifications as assigned and in accordance with Bozeman Health policies, department-specific requirements, applicable certification program and registry requirements, and other applicable regulatory requirements.

• Will learn to perform MRI exams and procedures for NICU, CCU, ED and other hospital departments as requested by medical staff.
• Performs ancillary duties as required to maintain proper distribution, billing, and archival of exams and procedures.
• Completes documentation, in designated area, of all information required for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams.
• Retrieves and files exam jackets, written orders, and related health information to ensure the timely performance and reporting of MRI exams and procedures.
• Participates in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of hospital quality indicators as described in the strategic plan.
• Trainee required to sign work commitment prior to MRI opportunity and will become ARRT Certified upon completion.
• Trainee is required to have bimonthly performance eval to ensure progression of MRI skills.
• Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Schedule Requirements

• This role requires regular and sustained attendance.
