Job summary

Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord, NC is seeking a part-time Radiology: Xray support role. You will perform basic diagnostic x-rays under supervision, assist patients with procedures, and help ensure patient safety in the absence of the radiology technologist.

Evenings and weekends hours are required; a sign-on bonus is eligible for this position. A High School Diploma or GED with coursework toward a medical imaging certificate or degree is required, and BLS is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with preliminary coursework toward a certificate or degree in a medical imaging field.
• Clinical experience based on the educational program; medical clerical skills preferred.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic diagnostic x-rays supervised by a radiology technologist.
• Identifies and assists patients with questions about procedures.
• Prepares patients for exam and ensures patient safety in the absence of the radiology technologist.
• Obtains medications, radiopharmaeceuticals, or contrast media materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner.
• Assists physicians and technologists in diagnostic exams across modalities (Rad/Fluro, CT, IR, Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET, Ultrasound).
• Retrieves patient orders and requisitions while supporting administrative or miscellaneous work tasks in RIS, EMR or other standard applications avoided in workflow for diagnostic exams.
• Assists patients to restrooms, with bedpans, urinals and other ancillary clinical support needs as required.
• Assists with administrative duties, quality assurance, safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
