Job summary

McLean Hospital is seeking a Radiology Support Assistant to assist radiology technologists and ensure a safe, comfortable imaging environment for patients.

You will prepare patients, assist with X-ray, CT, MRI, and ultrasound equipment, help position patients for optimal images, and manage image labeling and PACS transfers while supporting safe patient transport and routine supply maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-1 year hospital/managed care or radiology experience preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for radiology procedures and explain the imaging process.
• Prepare and arrange radiology equipment including X-ray machines, CT, MRI, and ultrasound devices.
• Help position patients on imaging tables or standing/sitting positions for accurate images.
• Assist radiology technologists with image labeling and transferring images to PACS.
• Transport patients to and from the radiology department and ensure safety and comfort.
• Maintain supplies and accurate procedure documentation for medical records and billing.
