Job summary

Summit Orthopedics seeks a Special Procedures Tech to operate radiologic equipment and perform routine diagnostic X-rays as prescribed by physicians.

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology with ARRT registration and work in a full-time floating position across multiple locations, including Vadnais Heights. Ten-hour shifts, Monday–Friday, block schedule.

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology and ARRT registered.
• <br/>Must maintain current ARRT registration.

Responsibilities

• Prepares rooms and patients, specific to the exam to be performed.
• Properly sets up equipment, trays, supplies, positions patients, and determines proper exposure factors to produce high quality images.
• Handles radiologic equipment safely and properly, keeping dose to patient as low as possible.
• Maintains supplies in the procedure rooms and works efficiently in the special procedures setting.
• Positions patients and takes X-Rays of body parts as requested by the physician.
• Maintains daily log books and monthly reports.
• Ensures correct patient record keeping and sends images to PACS.
• Cleans and maintains radiographic equipment and notes repairs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The Special Procedures Tech operates radiologic equipment to produce clinical diagnostic X-Rays as prescribed by physicians and performs routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices.

This is a full-time floating position. Locations include all of our Surgery Centers: Plymouth, Woodbury, Vadnais Heights, Eagan and Minnetonka. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology with current ARRT registration.

Monday - Friday, Block Schedule, 10 hour shifts

• Prepares rooms and patients, specific to the exam to be performed.
• Properly sets up equipment, trays, supplies, positions patients, and determines proper exposure factors in order to produce high quality images.
• Handles all radiologic equipment safely and properly, keeping dose to patient as low as possible.
• Maintains appropriate supplies in the procedure rooms. Uses an established work pattern to work efficiently and safely within the special procedures setting.
• Prepares patients for radiologic procedures. Positions patients and takes X-Rays of specific parts of the body as requested by the physician.
• Maintains daily log books, and monthly reports as requested/required.
• Maintains accurate patient record keeping by properly identifying images and assuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly.
• Cleans, maintains, and makes minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, including determining equipment repairs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Summit's hiring range for this position is $39.45 to $49.31 per hour The hired candidate may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses, differentials and/or deferred compensation.
