UVA Outpatient Imaging Culpeper is seeking a friendly Scheduler I to join our patient-centered team. You will assist patients and referring offices with scheduling outpatient imaging appointments while delivering excellent customer service.

The role includes managing a high-volume call queue, scheduling per physician orders, verifying demographics and insurance, and collaborating with clinical and registration teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in medical scheduling or call-center workflows preferred.
• Strong customer-service, communication, organization, and computer skills required.
• Familiarity with EMR, insurance verification, and medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high-volume inbound call queue.
• Make outbound calls to schedule patients and follow up on orders.
• Schedule imaging appointments accurately based on physician orders and exam requirements.
• Verify patient demographics, insurance information, referring-provider information, and order accuracy.

UVA Outpatient Imaging Culpeper is seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Scheduler I to join our patient-centered team.

Position Details:

• Status: Full-Time
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with a one-hour lunch
• Location: 509 S. Main St., Suite 100, Culpeper, VA 22701
• Work Arrangement: Hybrid opportunity after successful completion of required in-person training

What You'll Do:

As a Scheduler I, you will assist patients and referring offices with scheduling outpatient imaging appointments while providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include:

• Manage a high-volume inbound call queue.
• Make outbound calls to schedule patients and follow up on outstanding orders.
• Schedule imaging appointments accurately based on physician orders, diagnoses, and exam requirements.
• Verify patient demographics, insurance information, referring-provider information, and order accuracy.
• Communicate with patients, referring offices, clinical staff, registration, and authorization teams.
• Meet established call-volume, productivity, attendance, and quality expectations.

Hybrid Work Opportunity:

This position will primarily be performed remotely after the required in-person training period has been successfully completed.

Employees must be available to report to the Culpeper center for training, meetings, team activities, workflow needs, or whenever requested by leadership. Continued remote work is based on performance, productivity, attendance, and departmental needs.

Requirements

EDUCATION:

• To be competitive, must have high school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in a medical or healthcare setting is required.
• Strong customer-service, communication, organization, and computer skills are required.
• Previous experience with medical scheduling, patient coordination, registration, or call-center workflows is preferred.
• Experience scheduling radiology or diagnostic imaging services is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records, insurance verification, and medical terminology is preferred.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Ability to work independently and multitask.
• Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of computer applications and Microsoft Office
