Job summary

Kettering Health Network is seeking an experienced RN for our Radiology Unit in Ohio. The role involves delivering patient-centered nursing care, developing care plans, administering medications, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Required education includes an ADN or BSN, an Ohio RN license, and BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days). Strong assessment, documentation, and EHR skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
• Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical, psychosocial, and educational needs through interviews, examinations, and review of medical history.
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments safely, monitoring for therapeutic and adverse effects in accordance with provider orders and protocols.
• Document all aspects of patient care accurately and promptly in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment plans, medication regimens, and preventive care strategies.
• Monitor and evaluate patient responses to interventions, adjusting care plans as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Advocate for patient needs, preferences, and rights, ensuring culturally competent and ethical care.
• Maintain compliance with organizational policies, state and federal regulations, and accreditation standards.
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and infection control initiatives as assigned.
• Respond to emergencies and perform life-saving interventions within scope of practice and training.
