Job summary

Texas Health Mansfield is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse in Radiology to provide safe, compassionate patient care during procedures. You will assist physicians, monitor patients, and manage supplies while maintaining sterile technique and patient privacy.

The role requires RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, and at least 1 year of acute care experience. Work is in a full-time daytime shift at the Mansfield, TX location, with strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • RN licensed and BLS/ACLS required.
  • 1+ acute care nursing experience.
  • Radiology nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates and practices radiation safety to protect patients and staff.
  • Assists with ordering and stocking procedure rooms.
  • Preps and assists physicians during procedures; passes instruments and monitors vital signs.
  • Maintains sterility and integrity of equipment and supplies.
  • Communicates changes in patient condition to physicians during procedures.
  • Documents patient data accurately during procedures.
  • Knowledge of drugs used in radiology procedures and safe administration.
  • Ensures a clean, safe environment and proper patient privacy during procedures.

Job Description
  • Demonstrates and practices proper radiation safety measures to protect self, employees, visitors, and physicians.
  • Assists with ordering and stocking procedure rooms with necessary supplies and equipment, ensuring proper function and cost-effective use.
  • Assists physicians during procedures by prepping and draping patients, passing instruments, and monitoring vital signs.
  • Maintains the integrity and sterility of equipment and supplies throughout procedures.
  • Recognizes and communicates any changes in patient condition to the physician during procedures.
  • Documents accurate and pertinent data concerning the patient’s condition during procedures and reports to the appropriate person.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of drugs commonly used in the department for special procedures.
  • Provides safe and effective patient care by identifying and addressing the total needs of patients.
  • Ensures proper procedures and precautions are followed to maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment for patients.
  • Monitors patients transported to the department for routine procedures to maintain continuity of care.
  • Transports patients and ensures proper handoffs between departments and units, providing maximum privacy during procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrate outstanding clinical skills within the scope of duties defined by the respective license.
  • Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Unit specific competency must be met per orientation pathways.
  • Knowledge of EKG training and arrhythmia interpretation.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of vascular-related organ anatomy.
  • Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry.
  • Ability to monitor patient blood pressure, ECG, and Pulse Oximetry using sophisticated clinical equipment.
  • General knowledge of the pharmacological process and the appropriate administration or delivery of medications used in the care and treatment of Radiology patients.
  • Skill to maintain effective working relationships with health professionals and others to create an environment that is conducive to carrying out the mission of the department in an effective manner.
  • Skill to communicate (verbal and written) effectively to direct the overall professional nursing services in a manner which encourages the open exchange of ideas and information.
Education
  • Associate's of Nursing [Required]
  • Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
Work Experience
  • 1+ acute care nursing experience [Required]
  • 1+ radiology nursing experience [Preferred]
Licenses and Certifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]

Pay Range

Pay Range: $35.42 - $65.89
